Ok, this was the worst example I have yet heard of, so I felt like it might prove as more evidence in case anyone had any doubts about social matrix, manipulated man, great female con, etc. (probably mostly for new guys).

I own a business that repairs smartphones/tablets, and I had a guy come in the other day with a samsung android phone that he needed the screen replaced on because it was broken. The samsung phones have super-expensive replacement screens, so normally when I quote people the repair price, they just decide to replaced the phone with a new one rather than get it fixed. I gave this guy my normal talk about this, and he responded, "I DON'T CARE HOW MUCH IT COSTS. I need to use the text messages on this phone as evidence for a court case, and there is literally no monetary value that would be too much."

I was like, "woah, ok - we'll order the replacement screen and get it working for you."

I get the screen in and the dude brings his phone back in for the repar, so I ask him a few questions about it. I don't want to pry too much, but he seems willing to talk about it. Basically he and his wife would get in big arguments, and when they would get heated enough, his wife would physically beat him, including hitting him with broom handles, etc. He tells me that he would usually leave when she would start abusing him so that he wouldn't be tempted to hit her back. He says that the texts on the phone will prove 23 different cases of this over the spring/summer where he left after getting abused.

Then, in August, as his wife was beating him again, he grabbed her wrists to stop her and held her down. No hitting, just trying to get her to stop hitting him. Of course what happens? She calls the cops, he gets arrested and sent to jail for domestic abuse, indefinite restraining order preventing him from seeing the wife or his kids...

So, while he's in jail, the wife takes his phone, pulls the SD card (which apparently he had videos on his phone of her going into a rage and starting to attack him), destroys the SD card, and smashes the phone on the ground. Fortunately, however she just broke the glass/LCD, and didn't actually destroy the phone, and texts are stored in the internal memory, not on the SD card. I don't know why she didn't just burn the phone - that would have been a way better way to take care of the evidence.

After he's out of jail for a couple months, he gets to go back to their house to get his stuff, and he finds the smashed phone and takes it. Thats where I come into the picture. I put the new screen on for him, and the phone started right up. He comes back in to get the phone back so he can immediately take it over to have it entered as evidence and have the texts transcribed for the trial. He tells me that he hasn't even seen his kids in 3 months (since he was arrested), and that without these texts, he was looking at a lot of time in jail. Now he's hoping to at least avoid jail time, and possibly even prosecute her and get custody of the kids. I might get called in if that ever happens to testify about her attempted destruction of evidence... You can bet that I'll happily do that for this dude if the time ever comes.

I asked him if he had a prenup. Of course not... So no matter what happens with the criminal proceedings, she's going to get half of his posessions, money, etc...

Ridiculous.

Thanks for sharing. Cautionary tale indeed ...

For new guys (and the disbelievers) This is why MEN ARE BETTER (well you know what I mean).

This stupid chick only had ONE THING to do, and didn't even do it right to cover her ass ...

I hope SHE goes to jail (can she really have half if he proves she beat him up ? ), and he gets his balls back.

Just woke up, 7am, already in hating mode ... :ugeek:

Sorry to hear that... I definitely feel for the children too. I think my family situation was pretty negative growing up, but nothing compared to this...

In the Great Female Con the author talks a lot about prenups. He says that even in cases of fault (ie. cheating, abuse, etc) the possessions are still split 50/50 (ie. the law does not care about fault). But now I'm not so sure - I think it might vary from state to state...

Regardless - I can't help but think that this woman must fall into one of two categories:

1) Truly bat-shit crazy (ie schizophrenic, needing medication, etc), which doesn't necessarily excuse her from her actions.

2) If she's not truly insane (which I think she's not since she had the presence of mind to try to destroy the evidence), then she must be as bad as the worst described in either the Great Female Con or the Manipulated Man.

I have to wonder if there had been a prenup in place if she would have had to think twice about doing what she did. If she wasn't essentially guaranteed 50% of the possessions, the kids, child support, and alimony, do you think she might have a bit more incentive to prevent her from doing the shit she did to this poor symp? Although I guess there's a chance that she went too far and screwed up all the money, custody, etc (and hopefully I can help ensure that if I get called in to testify for destruction of evidence...).

As for me - seeing less and less reason to get married. Sure, have a big "commitment party" and invite all your friends/family, but seriously - why sign legally binding documents? Doesn't seem to be hardly any positive aspects of it, and it just doesn't seem to make much sense...

There would have been warning signs he chose to ignore.

But yeah marriage is like handing someone a loaded gun. Even prenups can be voided in court

She will most likely get away with it even with this evidence.

Sorry if this is an obvious question, but I don't live in America and don't really know the laws there. In the case that you happen to marry a women far richer than you (such as inheritance or something), would you still get 50/50?

Doesn't happen often, but it does happen. To many lazy bitches who are looking for the opposite situation...
