I'm on Season 4 and the big thing right now is Krillin's gf and they way everyone behaves around her and him putting himself at her whims to keep her approval

Gohan's mom was always in the picture creating the wrong dynamic but she wasn't in a lot of the episodes.

Is watching dragon ball before dragon ball z a must?

No, but you'll still miss some good anime...

How he missed his beloved grandpa gohan, then how he met the gold digger bulma, the red ribbon gang, yamcha, oolong, pua, tao pai pai, uranai baba, ten shin han, chaos, 1st tournament of martial arts, piccolo daimaku... etc... Also how kakaroto has developed as a boy thru teenage times. Until the stupid ass mofo married chichi and got his son gohan.

I read them for the first time (*auto-slap*) wednesday and thursday (total 15+ hours, unlike more than 500 episodes (153 of DB + 291 of DBZ + 68 of GT + OVAS + Films ...) of 20 minutes -> approximately 200 hours ...)

I always like Japanese Anime when I was younger and always thought the dragon ball video games looked bad ass (we didn't get them in the states when I was a kid) -- what's the best way to check this out in the right order

It should be! Bulma's such a BITCH! The World Martial Arts Tournament is awesome to watch. And, Goku and Kirllin's workout with Master Roshi taught me a few things...I'm incorporating a weighted vest (like their turtle vest) in my vertical training; consistency breeds results.

I forgot how sexual Dragon Ball was; Bulma in a bunny suit and the female in the tournament had the special power of "looks".
