I was looking to impersonate a type of Shakespeare style with that title, but onto a more important issue...

I've written down some goals for myself & on the top of the list is LOVE MYSELF!

Loving myself unfortunately hasn't been the been my strongest point. I'm actually much more skilled at pushing and punishing myself

I was wondering if any of you guys could recommend some good reads on Self Love?

My lack of self love is due to a low self esteem which I not faced until today! Any advice would be grateful, as some of the stuff I'm looking at on google seems like smoke up the ass!

You don't need no books, you need to know WHY is that you have low self steem. The reasons and the emotions that are painful you have to front them, go to mordor alone, and like mulder and scully investigate the motherfucker, introspect.

No book could ever get close to know that files, only you have this key and the following choice of action.

In short:

Go check your own attic, and stop seeking for more keys, you already have the important one

You have the answers within, Mr.Dude.

Start asking yourself questions and do some thorough introspection.

See what i focused on?

I gave you your answer to your question.

Understand that love is more than just being nice to yourself. You must be honest.

Check out The Handbook of Epitectus. I just posted information in Movies, Books, and Videos section. The book gives you the process to becoming happy.

Love is an understanding with the self, being honest to yourself and others, being forthright, pushing yourself and punishing yourself for not living up to your standards and truly loving yourself, creating a space for you to communicate deeply with yourself, setting aside personal time, taking yourself on weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly dates, flirting with your mind, allowing yourself to focus on what you want to achieve, etc.

Love is a process. Love is not an end.

Loving yourself unconditionally is the most important thing, after you get there everything else falls into place.

Exactly!

I was just relaxing, laying still, and listening to soothing music (meditating I guess) and what came up was profound:

"I don't like myself very much"

It resonated so well that I knew it to be true without question! Examples flashed before me that actually happened in my life that showed I don't like myself. VERY PROFOUND & DEEP STUFF FOR ME!

From what I can think of right now is that this stems from me being bullied and picked on as a young kid. And, being raised majorly by my mother, who even told me wanted a girl at first , was very hard on me. I had no manly figure to tell me to stand up for myself and believe in myself. And even deeper I was such a shy kid that I would never express myself and my pains like I am doing now.

Can't say it enough...I'm happy to be here! :D

And soon I'll go from  to 8-)

Bravo TheDude.

An important step and an important admission to yourself.

+1st Cor, chapter 13. (Biblical)

+Read something about Joy, for it is companion to Love.
Love has no opposites. (only companions.)

A key occurrence for me was a couple of months ago, I read Mickey's Pimp Guide. Somehow, I drew this conclusion from that book: it's okay to be myself. Once I realized that, it became much easier to love myself and accept myself.

However, it's not enough to hear it. You truly have to believe it!
