In a class of mine I noticed a female jocking a while back.
I also noticed she was looking to sit next to me at one point last week, but didn't happen.
Usually I take up both seats as the tables outnumber the students. (It's a night class and not over-crowded)
Today, I wanted to experiment, so I made myself more available to sit next to and left one seat available.
I was pondering if she would sit to the seat directly next to me.
That would be fairly direct for a girl in college, especially since we haven't even talked yet.
She came in...looked around and sat at the table in front of me.
Knowing what I know from here freaks me out sometimes...being able to observe and analyze pretty well. (Developing a 6th-sense).
Didn't talk one bit during class.
Class finishes and I chat with my fellow classmates behind me about another class.
She waits for an opening and opens me.
"Who's your teacher?"
Silly question, because I knew we both had the same teacher in the SAME CLASS, and I know she knows we do to.
I answered her question, but asked her: Aren't we in the same class?
"Yeah."
This told me more about her and her feelings about me: She's not entirely confident, but wanted to open me and did when a easy opening came.
She was a bit nervous, nothing huge or crazy, just not able to hold eye contact long and jumping around in conversation.
She's a little dorky and I like that.
No more than 20 seconds into our conversation, she says:
My boyfriend took this class, so he's helping me.
I reciprocate and say she's got it made, she'll ace the class with the help of her boyfriend.
--------
Afterward I was analyzing why she mentioned her boyfriend so quickly.
1) To put the onus on me if anything further happens (aka not make her feel guilty/responsible)
2) Actually, there is no number 2.
So that's my breakdown.
Any thoughts gentleman?
Btw it's the 7th week of school now, and the most I've done before today with her was hold eye contact once for longer than usual. Patience created some stories in her head...I think.
The ratio of guys to girls in this class is like 9:1.
