For anyone that's read Mickey Royal's book and understands the concept of having to be above people for them to look up to you, not walking with the peasant's, etc... Brad Pitt's character in moneyball is a shining example of this. If you haven't seen it then do so and pay close attention to that character, doesn't give a fuck about anyone but himself and he conveys it completely...he behaves like everyone is beneath him.

@"conveys completely" part...
The only problem I'm actually experimenting with this kind of mentality it's that when stems from my insecurities it makes me look like a tool (At least I view myself that way), usually I have a rough time when cheating myself. I am very honest person with myself and a very hard with me too, and I know this fucks up my congruence.

It caused me more problems than solutions. It's like a protective shell or a tough guy façade that I try to impress in others people brains, and every time I forget I already am THE MAN... This act tires me, although most of peole buy into iteven when I'm faking it, "perceptive" females fall too. Honestly I've fucked up when I "reveal the secrets" I don't know why I have this tendency to do so, ever heard the "shooting your own foot" but viciously.

It's just my perspective perhaps I infravalorate myself, & some other factors combined. And this blurs the objective conclusion of the event.

That's because you were acting on the outside without having the proper beliefs on the inside. Knowing that everyone is selfish therefore you can't give a fuck about anyone is mindset #1 to achieve this behavior.

Also, you don't have to treat people like shit...if you try to do that it means you're attached and care what people think, you can have a smile on your face while you don't care. I'm civil to people (Depending), but I talk to everyone like I'm above them and I'm aloof as fuck.

watch the movie again dali...

I always found that it created insecurity in others.

I've grown fond of flying under the radar. So much easier.

It's getting to the point where I have a great deal of control over the image I create in others minds. And can switch gears at the flick of a switch.

Thanks for the movie idea though imma check it out 8-)

Dude, word to the wise...whenever anyone says something like, 'You think youre so smart, don't you?'...they are basically telling you what they are thinking, then projecting it onto you because yet cannot handle their own self truth...which is basically what you just did. :ugeek:

I have found the same,

But to each his own, similar to coming here. Me of all people cannot probably relate to the slang in pimposophies, but the message, is universal. Apply it to you.

I sort of understand the direction of what you're saying, but am a bit confused of the message. :?

What I meant to say was: isn't the attitude of "above everyone" have a see through foundation? Isn't that the "ego-judgment" declaring that "You" am better than "I".

Yes, we can do different things better than one another, but that doesn't necessarily mean one of us is a better person than the other. In short...how can you have an attitude of "superiority" over others (money, girls, cars, etc...that's just material possessions)?

p.s. was the "YET" supposed to be a "YOU"? English is not my strong point, but I am working on it.

Watched the movie, and it's impossible not to like Brad Pitt's character. He says what he thinks.

This is just absurd. Absolutely grade A narcissistic bullshit. You are mistaking correlation with causation. Truth is someone at a position of influence might be looked up to at least by one person he works with, given the fact that he has established his authority.

How is authority firmly established? As the leader you direct others towards a path and achieve concrete goals. Case in point, Brad Pitt in that movie.

At a distribution curve if such a person has authority and a base degree of perceived success (or at least is in the process of getting there with tangible results), he will be looked up to based on his achievements alone. It doesn't matter if he is the biggest asshole in the world or the nicest guy on the planet, why? Because he delivered his end or side of the deal with results. This establishes a certain degree of respect and admiration, which for the sake of this argument lets call it base level respect.

A loser who is an asshole and believes he is above everyone will be treated for the loser he is. Believing you are above everybody else when you have nothing to show for it, will not have people look up to you. There is no level of base respect acquired.

Conversely, if a person in a position of authority amasses great success through concrete results, he establishes a level of base respect based on his/her achievements alone. This level of base respect can be amplified and reach a wider scale, if that person is humble and walks through the peasants, and makes them feel like they matter. Observe the world around you: Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo, Wallstreet Bankers vs Muhammad Yunus, etc. Why? Because there is no reason for them to prove or try to overcompensate by thinking they are better than anyone else. Their results speak for themselves.

The stuff you talk about Star Above, might play out in the social realm because you can fake your way into having a base level respect for a while, especially in first impressions. It is critical to point out that on a transactional basis of concrete results, you can't fake it. You have to earn it. Then you can do whatever you want and treat others like crap or not, and go wild thinking you are above others, because you have earned that, and your results are above what an average person in that industry accomplishes. But it's not the chicken before the egg.

Completely different scenario.

Have you watched the movie ?

Not once (if I remember) does he criticize / destroy other's point of views just to prove he's above them.

It's the other way around : HE PLAYS BY HIS RULES, so WHEN he says something (taking the players based on statistic ratings rather than 'belief' of greatness) he KNOWS will be revolutionary,
he doesn't NEED (in his opinion) to take shit from NOBODY who don't believe, THAT'S why he cut them loose / criticize people (in their face too, gotta respect that at least).

Reminds me of a quote from Matrix :
"Random guy I don't remember : Not everyone believe Neo's the one.
Morpheus : Luckily my belief doesn't require that they do".

It was HIS path (BP's character), so if people give him shit for thinking how he thinks, ... he discards them like a MAN would do.

There's a fine distinction between feeling the need to TELL everybody you're better (which is a sign of the contrary, or 'grade A narcissistic bullshit' as you put it), and just BEING YOURSELF, doing what you know you should do, and DISCARD others when they try to put you down (that's a sign you have complete confidence in yourself).

"Loving yourself is not a matter of building your ego. Egotism is proving you are worthwhile after you have sunk into hating yourself. Loving yourself will dissolve your ego: you will feel no need to prove you are superior."

Just my 2 trillion cents, and some epic quotes (damn that big ego ...)

@GoldenBoy

I did watch the movie. It just seems that had he not got any results with that method, he would have not got any respect whatsoever from the others. He established his authority and others followed along. In the beginning given his authority figure, he is looked up to but has to continually maintain his respect through his results.

I'm just talking about a case where you would implement something and it would not be sucessful. Cutting other people loose and criticizing them in their faces for going against your opinion would certainly backfire.

Yep, we're all on our own path and have different experiences and different meanings for things, a quote or a piece of information to one can mean something completely different to another due to previous experiences and how they perceive it.

Check out this clip (30 seconds).

Reminded me of this thread. Guy is nonchalant as fuck. Forget about what he says, the pickup, but how his vibe comes across.
