I remember that projection trick you showed me on the phone where you just play everything out on a movie screen in your head.

I've found that my emotions always show. How do you get a poker face that no one can read through?

A good way is to practice how you want to look in the mirror...and make a mental note how your face feels (ie which muscles are being used). Then, as you get a feel for it, start off with a whole different face, close your eyes, make the face you want to make via FEEL...then open your eyes and see how close you are.

Then, in social situations, you'll know you have the right face on at the right time because of how your face FEELS. 8-)

What about reading people in games of conscious deception. It's easy to profile people when the game isn't in the realm of awareness for most people.

I'm going to try to play some live poker tournaments in the next little bit. And online it's a lot easier because it's just patterns, numbers and math. In person it'll be different though. Any thoughts?

My first move would be to simply go along and observe. Observe, observe.

Then sit back and see what you saw and how it played out.

For sure, just gonna do a low stakes one. That way I can observe and play without too much on the line.
If you want to discuss hands or whatever hit me up with a pm or Skype, still learning but discussion is always good. 8-)

Thanks for the advice guys

Loving Lie to Me 10 minutes into the first episode. 8-)

You always make the best suggestions for watching material.

Interesting point brought up in episode 3.

It touches a few times on how the popular kids are excellent liars and there is a big connection between being popular and a good liar.

When they are interogating the girl who is accused of killing her classmate. The dialogue is...

"Your daughter is an excellent liar"
"I don't know what you mean"
"Well studies show that popular kids are the most facile, that is what makes them popular"

Is that true? I find the hardest thing is too prevent that little flicker at the corners of my mouth. I really want to smile and it's hard to control even with the exercise you suggested above.

Why am I so bad at it lol

Because your ego rules you...you secretly WANT people to how things make you really feel...you get off on it. :geek:

How do you get past that? Also what do you mean, I get off on it. Your definitely right.

But what am I really getting out of it. What need is it serving?

Also that would imply that "popular kids" have little desire for people to know how things make them feel.
Actually part of it would be that I want them to know when I have them beat, like in school I was decent at sports but always have excelled at brain stuff,a card I have always played on other people.

Old revelation but I really do make people feel threatened, the first side was just plain trying to fly under the radar (and failing ) actually it was the ex that pointed it out. Didn't really believe her at the time.

Second step is realizing how I invite that kind of drama. I purposely instigated it up to this point mostly subconsciously.

This sounds really arrogant to say but when I'm out and about I really do feel like I am better than everyone else. Especially at work, like the people that are playing games are below me. And I pretty much always consider them vastly less intelligent. It's not like a coverup for insecurity. I really feel that way.

I guess the next step would be to get to the point. Where those desires that are currently being met through drama are satisfied some other way.

You know the answer to the above question. It is inside of you, so have a look and then tell us what you think.

Yeah, I did.

Just took a few minutes of pondering to bring it out.

I KNOW I'm smarter/better than a lot of people as well...my IQ is somewhere between 130-150 so that means...what? That only 2-3% of the worlds population can truly understand me at 100% (God bless you, 'Grinus! )?

Does that mean I delight in going around and flexing my mental might? NO. Unlike you, I ENJOY being perpetually underestimated...the the point that it really makes me so much MORE effective. No one can prepare for something that they had no idea was coming...but yet and still you like to know that people can see you coming a mile away?...and what school of strategy do you subscribe to again? :|
