I have a question:

How do you go about changing something about yourself (internally: such as a habit)?

I ask, because I can't seem to change; in essence I can't have the life I want. For example: I want to change the fact that I am always judging others & most importantly myself. There are other things I'd like to change too, but that is the best example I have right now.

You just decide you're gonna do then (not TRY to do it)...then work like hell until you're done. Simple. 8-)

If you want to do something bad enough, you'll do it. :ugeek:

What do you mean by "not TRY to do it"?

Lol I thought Yoda talked more like:

Try, there is none, do, do not, or there is choice.

To try is not to do.

Trying lacks confidence. it is uncertain.
Doing it is full of knowledge about it.

Has anyone here ever felt like they were waiting for something to happen? A life changing experience to set them on the path/life they want.

I find myself waiting for something to happen, so that I can live my life they way I want (that doesn't sound very boss to me).

Having a vision of your future self may help compell, it has with me. Imagining what you want you're life to look like, visualise it how its going to be as if you are living it now and as was said trust in the process and trust in what your gut is telling you.

Your imagination is an important tool for change.

Simple.

First questions:

* What are you doing?
* Why are you doing it?
* Where is this going?

If you know; you'll succeed
If you don't; you won't.

That's the law.

The judging itself is trying to express something deeper that you do NOT want to hear, but until it is fully listened to, it will never stop. The more you "try to stop it" or get rid of it the louder it will speak.

Think of it like a baby, it doesn't speak the english language you can't logic with it. If the baby is hungry it is going to cry and cry until it's fed, you can't try to shut it up by doing other things. Except unlike something physical, this is not ever going to get tired or die if you continue to ignore it. You have to give it what it wants which is to express itself and that comes from learning to let it do that and listen WITHOUT trying to change it (which is a trained automatic tendency)

I did.....then I gave up wanting it and giving a shit about it, then it happened. :lol:

One thing I've learned ove the past few months is that perfection is an illusion, I also gave up waiting til I'm perfect to take on the world and recently opportunities (career wise) have presented themselves to me, so you never know what a simple attitude shift might do for you.

Sometimes it helps to break it down into steps. Here's a recent example:

I was lying comfortably in my bed watching season 5 of Kids in the Hall. I was due to head back to work in 48 hours and had a list of chores for the interim; Higher up on the list was the task of transfering some diesel from some barrels into the bulk tank which fuels my furnace. Since it was cold outside I would have prefered to stay in my warm bed enjoying some diversion. That is exactly what I did for several hours until I said "enough is enough". I made a plan:

1) Get dressed.
2) Go outside
3) Remove the barrel plugs
4) Insert the pump.
5) Insert the discharge hose
6) Move the pump handle back and forth 150 times
7) Repeat from step 4 on the new barrel
8) Put the lids on and put the pump away.

A small example, but by sticking to the plan, I got 'er dun.

How does a man eat an elephant? One bite at a time.

Oh... one more thing... If you are an alcoholic or a drug user, try waiting until later in the day for your first dose. These can really harm your productivity.
