(The below is an article that I created for my blog that I’m now sharing here for people to envision.)

One of the biggest problems that college students and recent graduates from college have is finding a job; the reasoning for this problem is because college students, although they have education, do not have experience. However, a lot of “professional” jobs request that candidates have education plus experience; this is a conundrum for recent graduates. It is very difficult to work while going to school. School is designed to test your wherewithal and stretch your ability to think. Depending upon your job, it is either going to maximize your laboring potential or stretch your critical thinking potential unless you find a job that goes just right for a college student (i.e. a job that does not require too much critical thinking and/or laboring); however, these types of jobs do not pay very well.
So, this brings about the breakdown in communication between businesses and universities. Schools somewhat adapt their teaching curriculum to the business marketplace by offering certification classes that businesses hire people for; however, universities and schools need to come together to create a plan to standardize the systems which businesses use so that universities can teach students how to be proficient in utilizing these systems so that students can gain experience while in school, so once they are hired they are more ready to begin working. All of the top firms within the accreditation regions can come together with the universities and lay out what systems they are looking to hire candidates for so that the schools in turn can implement teaching the systems within the dynamic of the courses that students will be taking so that school curriculums will be more applicable to real life as opposed to simply conceptual. This streamlining would benefit both in the long run because there would be less unemployed students and there would be less development gaps within companies. Furthermore, neither the business nor the student would have to research as much for qualified candidates to hire or qualified places to apply to because both organizations would be speaking the same language. This is why McDonald’s is so successful; in order to open a McDonald’s franchise, you have to already have a few successful franchises under your belt along with spending at least $1 million and have your application accepted in order to get a McDonald’s franchise. Next, you have to attend Hamburger University and graduate the program before you start running your McDonald’s franchise. At Hamburger University you are taught exactly how to run a successful McDonald’s franchise; this is why the success rate for McDonald’s franchises is so high.
If all the major firms within the accreditation regions were to agree to this, then the smaller firms would also follow suit, so the candidates that the major firms can’t/neglect to hire can be hired by the smaller firms.
This is a win/win situation.
