I question how this add didn't break it's narrow sight and involve both men in their too, the men who apologize for everything as well. Kidd mentioned this is a war between the sexes...I see that. I have never heard a woman apologise let alone apologise and truly mean it, apart from when I dumped my ex but even then I'm pretty sure she only felt sorry for herself. |

Strange thing is after posting this I noticed more women apologizing for irrelevant things...remember a lady had her car door open and I couldn't get by, but I could of easily went a different route...she said "sorry" and closed her door so I could go by. |

It's part of the idoctrination of the system.Why do people say 'sorry' to other people? I say, it's a negation of being themselves, a negation of their mere existance, hence the apology when in contact with another being. Basically lack of a healthy self worth, not talking about the one that is derived from masses an external one, but a more strong one, discovered and through hard earned self-inquiry. Like one have the full pass for the oracle because one knows thyself. |

It's a form of coutesy. It's a learned behaviour. You say it in order to not offend the other person. You do not want to offend the other person because you may still need something from the other person in the future. So in my opinion it is about possible future benefits. |

It's also an automatic response that allows you to function on autopilot and not question or observe interactions. |

We have a saying in Greece - since sorry came, integrity has been gone. Since sorry came, integrity has been gone: the ability to say sorry and be forgiven relaxes your conscience and you don't push yourself to be consistent with your obligations, to not give reasons for your honor and reputation to be derogated - since you think they are restored with a "sorry". Actions speak louder than words. Sorry means nothing, unless it is accompanied by fixing the mistake and/or not doing it again. Talk is cheap. People use sorry as an appeal to emotion in order to manipulate an emotional response instead of a rational one. Dali's post was where I was feeling the reason for "sorry" was coming from; a place of not being whole, dimming your own light, because you fear blinding others. Zogler, your post clarified that as well. Sorry has become an appeal to emotion to manipulate. Thanks for bringing that up. Integrity was also a good word brought up. |
