What exactly determines who rises and who doesn't? Are you born with it or is it something you gain along the way?

Watched the start of the video with the basketball player.

She raised a provider for her.

From the sounds of it, she did it real well, he is very indoctrinated and loyal.

So she ends up with a provider and also gets to bask in the glory of what she has produced.. Look at him, I made him this way, isnt he great, look how much he cares about me, look how he provides for me now. Look at how good a mum I am.

Now got to the bit at 5:00... Spot on..
As for the rest of it, seen it with so many people I have known in my life.. He makes some extremely valid points..

Then the text at 13:00 onwards... spot on

Make sure to watch part2 also. Oh do watch part2, he goes on about a lot of the thoughts I had while watching part1.

I would sum it up by saying, your son is not your possession.. He is someone you should be teaching and encouraging to be an independent person able to explore life and form his own views. Of course that is counter to everything they believe.

I hate when my mom does that with me inflating her son (Dali, but really her!!) in front of her friends, she projects herself as glorious mom, because the abilites I have as a guy who knows how to sing in front of a big crowd. My dad rarely does that. :P And he admires me more the spacey daisy way.
I am extremely harsh with her when she does that. And she does this less and less (she is in tune with my limits more). I have enough with my fucking ego getting in the way than + dealing with her projections of inadecuacy. I love her, but I don't permit that shit.

She also calls me: Pops... :?
