It sounds like he has approval seeking behavior. That feeling of being god like will only last temporarily his validation is external instead of internal which will always be the root of his suffering. Until he can accept himself he never be happy.

Even if he managed to find happiness that emotion is fleeting as well there is no such thing. IMO anyway
