Today I had a conversation with my friend - He told me, how he doesn't like his job, girls are not interested in him, how he's bored with life and life is chaotic and he doesn't understand a thing.

This conversation got me thinking, because to me, everything has it's purpose. The thing is I don't yet understand the purpose of many things. But that doesn't mean It has no purpose, or is randomly chaotically caused. Reminds me of this scene:

I don't know, but life seems more... happier, with knowing (or believing ?) that everything has it's purpose. I got ill suddenly and can't leave house - Ok, maybe it's trying to prevent me from going out, because I maybe got killed in accident or something. I got fired from a job - Ok, maybe it has a purpose of me getting to find a more fullfilling job, or a job which should teach me things I need to learn, or something.
Or maybe a girl doesn't want to be together suddenly - Ok, maybe the relationship served it's purpose, and we, or I, learned something.

Only problem I see in my view is not to get caught in cycle of doing mistakes again and again.

Do you guys see it in way as I do, or how ? Share your personal philosophy on this...

That's basically how I view things as well...

There is a reason for everything.

The key is having the clarity and the patience to see the reason, not all the false truths.

Yeah dude, I've been on a roll lately but I've just been given a couple bad breaks this weekend, though I believe these circumstances happened to give me the chance to reflect and really think about where I want to go and if I'm working hard enough right now to get where I want to in life.

Fufe, I am definitely more at peace knowing everything happens for a reason, when I look back on my life so far and connect the dots, it all makes sense....

Looking back at my life whenever I tried to make things happen or change things with too much force, it ended up being Not for my own good. And when bad things happened and I tried to fix them but not with too much force- it ended up for my own good and with good results.

So I do beleive that everything is for a reason and for your own good. When you do what you can but not with too much force and just allow things to happen- you will see that in the end it's for your own good- even if at the moment it doesn't look that way.

Just work on yourself to be a good person and do what you can. In the end things turn out for your own good (even if you don't see it right away).

To add.

A purpose for me (which I often later on looking back can see the purpose of);
or A purpose for someone else and not so much for myself(in most cases I will be unaware of the purposes it had for/to others);
or A putpose for a whole lot/group of people (in most cases I will be unaware of the purposes it had for/to others) and not so much for myself;
or A purpose for etc..

I also have the idea/believe, that often I'm not aware the purpose my action or inaction has to and for others. And that I will also never find out. So therefore my believe is also, that the purpose on a larger scale (beyond just my personal level) often remains unknown to me, although something i did which semed tpo have no purpose for my personal life might have created good or bad or whatever for other(s).

I always try to have the belief: "Everthing happens for the better". But I should add that it's not always easy to have hold that belief.

What would a forum be without a different opinion every now and then? For me I don't think everything has a purpose. I do believe everything that happens in life can give you a valuable lesson and I am always mindful of that. To me at least, rationalizing that everything has a purpose is a neat little cognitive trick to take that fear of the unknown or anxiety out of life.

Correct me if I'm wrong Peregrinus, but this would go along with the overall theme of careful observation and analyzation. The false truths would be the conclusions that someone would settle upon due to their lack of patience in understanding something. A reason for everything doesn't necessarily mean that it was meant to happen, it means understanding the how and why and how you might learn a lesson from it.
