why do some men press such an emphasis of having a male child? why is it that when some Men father daughters, some type of animosity is developed (even though Male child and their fathers develope these animosities as well)?

I know some females who can't have a lasting positive relationship with their father. these females have daughters for guys, who blatantly tell them that:
1. the child isn't theirs.
2. they didn't want a daughter.

I understand a few of the surface stuff about this, but is their a moral primal reason for this phenomena?/Enigma?

males carry seeds.
females are the earth that nurture these seeds.
The Man is "Sun"
Seeds bring forth life.
I understand the Oedipus Complex: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oedipus_complex

but their is still a reason why Males like to Have Male seeds. a child is a part of the parent no matter what, but does having a son give a belief that we created a perfect copy of yourself :?:

That's essentially what procreation is, isn't it?.

procreation is generally having offspring.
I am talking about Men who feel more joy in having a son and not a daughter.

Most people I have spoken to who have answered honestly and not from the matrix view have told me the exact opposite. When they have really opened up and been honest from their core, unafraid of my reaction to what they were going to say.

Women really want sons.

Men really want daughters.

Then you add the matrix, society, peer pressure, advertising and it flips around.
Men are taught to think they should want sons.
Women are taught to think they should want daughters.

Again, another aberration of nature.

I have spoken to many women about their sons, their bond is totally different from the daughters.. The daughters end up more like sisters, the sons do not end up like brothers.

The same is true of my discussions with men about their daughters and their sons.

Personally if I have any offspring, I would want daughters, at least that way there will be some women who when they grow up know how things are meant to be.
I can honestly say I have ZERO desire to have a son. I have felt that way as long as I can remember and have been met with incredulity when telling people it over the years.

now here is the kicker. probably it was anticipated. isn't there the thought that your daughter is going to have to submit to some man one day ( Women submit to us and we sometime do to them).

I heard one famous New York Radio Show host say that when he gets children, he wants about 5 girls. for a financial reason though. his reason is that his daughters can bring him wealth ( makes a shit load of sense if you ask me :D , coming from a right point of view though).

it is surprising hearing that come from you though Kidd ( not in a Misogynistic way).

not saying I won't be happy with the gender of my Children, but I would like Sons.

@ Pere'G,I also notice that Some Men have GREAT relationships with their daughters, and Moms do with their Sons.
(what is the psychology behind it, is it their way of protecting the inverse of themselves?)

Boils down to the elektra/oedipus complex...hence why you rarely hear of 'Daddy's little boy" or "Mama's girl"...but you ALWAYS hear vice versa. I feel the same way as 'Grinus...truth be told I was rather disappointed that I had a boy. Please understand...I love my son, and women will never get the best of him by virtue of me being his father, but I really, REALLY wanted a girl. But, I can almost guarantee going forward that I will definitely be having some baby girls in the future...and for that I am EXCITED!

I actually have a rather simple yet complex theory about what determines child gender...maybe I'll share it one day. :ugeek:

I have a theory as well. based on the make up of our respective chromosomes.
would love to hear your interpretation of it.

Freud had some weird ideas.....oedipus complex isn't an accepted theory anymore

We're thinking of the same theory right?

I'm pretty sure...the definition of the oedipus/elektra complexes is pretty universal I think... :geek:

By who?

It contains more truth that a lot of theories out there.

Trouble is, like most things it is a bitter pill to swallow.

It is more commonly known by complex not theory....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oedipus_complex
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electra_complex

Why do you think so many men end up with someone like their mother.
Or so many women end up with someone like their father.

Look around you, speak to people and you will see its footprints all over society.

Possibly you were referring to similar texts as this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Oedipus

On a similar topic, also worth reading: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feminism_and_the_Oedipus_complex

I was telling a co worker about the above yesterday.
Pere'G, I meant to ask you this question before based on a post you had made above.

here is the quote,
Quote:
Personally if I have any offspring, I would want daughters, at least that way there will be some women who when they grow up know how things are meant to be.
I can honestly say I have ZERO desire to have a son. I have felt that way as long as I can remember and have been met with incredulity when telling people it over the years.

when you get the time, do you mind explaining the parts I have highlighted?

I presume this is the bit you meant.

I would have thought it was self evident.

What effect do you think having a myself as a father figure would have influence wise on a girl growing up?

;), it is . just like explanations
I think Daughters Born to you and Kidd ( Children for that Matter) would get the correct direction in regards to life.

I'd like a son to a degree, but am in totally agreement with others in that I would LOVE to have a daughter.

Whenever I think about having children, which is not often, then it's always with a girl in mind.
