Ironically, she called my work phone this morning to call in sick. Nothing noteworthy, right?...well...maybe if you aren't me. ;)

More incriminating evidence:

-She made it a point to make sure that I knew she had called me from her personal cell phone, not her work phone.

-Also made it a point that I knew her hubby was out of town.

But hey...what do I know?

But like I said, it's just nice to know. I can appreciate the attention, but to act on it could lead to corporate suicide. :geek:

I am amazed how the couples insecurity has propelled them both in your direction though. She is making up for lost times in "bounds and leaps"

It's very logical to me.. To her he seems like excellent option (maybe best), to him he seems like a big threat..

Baiting from a position of percieved safety.

No dice.

Her: So I heard you met the hubbster. *rolls eyes*

She then gave me the history...

They met when she was 19 and he was 37. From the color of the convo, she now realizes that if she could it all over again, she would have done it differently. She made it sound like she has two kids to take care of (him and their son).
Disccuss.
To add to what has already been discussed, I think she opened up to Kidd after that fact as a way to send the message she would be 'open' to be an unfaithful wife if Kidd was so inclined.
If she kept quiet and didn't share her history, she probably thought Kidd would write her off as "faithfully married and unavailable".

I took my thought a bit further and thought about what she might do if Kidd and her did fool-around.
It would be a long-shot for her to think Kidd would want more than to just fool-around with her given what she's bringing to the table compared to what Kidd had (front+clout).
I imagine she would treat Kidd exceptionally well, (qualifying the hell out of herself, in hopes of whipping Kidd into a frenzy to see her as "special" and then once she thought she had him "hooked", she would renegotiate the contract to secure herself in.*

I think she would've been pretty adamant with her approach as well.
Given she was 29 at the time and with a kid...she wasn't getting any younger; her buying power was decreasing by the day.

*before I would've been angry at a woman doing such a thing, but I can understand now that she's doing what's best for her in her situation; human nature.

I initially thought her attraction was unconscious as well, but after reading zogler's insight it made much more sense that it was conscious...it would take more than just her subconscious to act that way (aloof & cold).

I get it.
She setup the situation so that if Kidd was to take the bait, he would be the one sticking out his neck further, because she didn't blatantly say anything direct to the untrained ear.
She said just enough to have Kidd do most of the leg-work.
She positioned it so that if things did go "sorrow" she had the back-door open for an escape.

Typing this up really strengthened the mindset to do what's in my best interest, because others will do the same...just like this chick in this thread.

That's a WIN! :D

To answer to your questiĆ³n the woman seemed not to be offering a safe place but a calling on my ego.
