The Old Tricks side mission in Borderlands 4 brings Raymond and his crew back together for one final stand against the Order. It's a nostalgic, action-packed mission that ties up the storyline from previous side quests involving Raymond and his old band of misfits. Expect plenty of firefights, emotional dialogue, and a strong payoff for helping him take the fight to the Dominion City's oppressive rulers.

Raymond has finally gotten his old gang back together, and now he's ready to strike a decisive blow against the Order's control over Dominion City. To do that, he needs your help in hijacking their propaganda system and broadcasting his message of rebellion to the people.

How to Start the Old Tricks Mission

You can pick up Old Tricks from Raymond, who's waiting at the watermill in Glory Park, located in the Fades District. This area will become accessible after you've completed the preceding side missions involving Raymond and his allies.

Once you arrive, talk to Raymond to trigger a short dialogue sequence. He'll explain that the band is back together and ready to make a statement. The plan? Take over the Order's propaganda broadcast tower and send a city-wide message of hope.

After the cutscene, the mission officially begins with your first objective: Travel to the radio tower in the Terminus District.

Objective 1: Go to the Radio Tower

Open your map and look for the Terminus District - the radio tower is located just north of Praetor's Lecture. The fastest way to reach it is by using the Frantic Scrawl fast travel hub if you've already unlocked it.

Once you fast-travel or make your way there manually, head to the northern edge of the district. You'll spot the tall broadcast tower almost immediately; its blinking lights make it easy to identify even from a distance.

As you approach, you'll find Raymond standing in a narrow alleyway across from the tower's base. He'll wave you over and outline the next part of his plan.

Objective 2: Meet Raymond and Place the Transmitters

Speak to Raymond to begin the setup phase. He explains that to hijack the Order's broadcast system, he needs to install three transmitters on the tower. These will override the Order's signal and project his message citywide.

When prompted, take the transmitters from Raymond. Then, get ready to climb and install them in the designated spots.

Transmitter Locations:

First Transmitter - Lower Beam (Ground Level)

Start at the base of the tower and look for the highlighted installation point on one of the lower beams. Interact to place the transmitter.

Second Transmitter - Opposite Side Beam (Ground Level)

Circle around the tower's foundation to find the second placement point on the opposite beam. Again, interact to secure it.

Third Transmitter - Second Level (Upper Panel)

For the final one, climb the scaffolding or ladder to reach the second level. The last transmitter goes onto the side of a metal panel above the lower structure. Once all three are placed, climb down and regroup with Raymond.

Objective 3: Defend Raymond During the Broadcast Hack

After placing all transmitters, Raymond will begin hacking the broadcast feed. Unsurprisingly, the Order doesn't take kindly to this act of rebellion, and within seconds, waves of enemies will start swarming your position.

This defense phase is the mission's main combat sequence. You'll need to protect Raymond while he completes the hack. He stays near the base of the tower, so try to fight in that area to prevent enemies from overwhelming him.

Tips for the Fight:

Use Cover: The tower's support beams provide plenty of cover. Stay mobile, and don't expose yourself to sniper fire from rooftops.

Prioritize Melee Enemies: The Order often sends melee rushers first - deal with them quickly before they can reach Raymond.

Use AoE Weapons: Grenades and splash-damage guns can help clear out clustered enemies around the tower.
