 Post subject: Sales and Space

Hey guys right now i am trying to work on this business where i go to private elementary schools and see if there is interest in adding golf classes to After School Enrichment programs.We know that in personal relationships space is especially important dealing with people.As far as business goes making these phone calls to these schools after the receptionist transfers me to the voicemail i have been getting 0 replies out of say close to 30 or so voicemails left.Now my supervisor said to be aggressive but not an asshole and suggested i can contact each school up to three times per week if i don't hear from them.After doing some inner work this feels like a lot of pursuing.I guess the key is to hustle while be unattached?I also notice that negative emotions are triggered like not being good enough but its mostly the space thing i am most curious about.Thanks Guys.

I would imagine space applies less in business. I would probably call once, and then follow up a couple of days later if I didn't hear back. Otherwise I would let it go. If they don't respond twice they're not interested and you should re-evaluate your sales pitch.

One thing I noticed is that when I sit in silence for a couple of hours and

allow whatever emotion to arise almost always I get group text message

from people wanting to hangout(usually ping pong group at a bar ).

I was thinking that although these people who text me to meet up

cannot see me physically maybe subconsciously through the universe

they could sense a degree of contendness through solitude and allowing.

I thought that the things discussed in this forum such as

{Mirrors,projections,inner world,matrix}

operated under a spiritual realm outside of the metaphysical.

But it seems that the same doesn't apply to this business I have been working on as I

have yet to see a Correlation between solitude and spending time doing inner

Work(mostly just sitting in a quiet room) and being called back from a

school that I have either dropped in an visited or called and left a voicemail.Perhaps

I have been wrong and the things discussed in this forum like Solitude,Mirrors,Projections,Matrix

Maybe operate in the Material and Metaphysical realm.I know that there are atheists on here and am

curious what there take on this is.Sorry for the formatting tried

to edit but couldn't get it to come out

the way I wanted.

Your mind is trying to reduce this all into simple cause and effect and blanket theories. Meditation is meditation and business is business. Your job is to let go of everything and see what the correlations actually are, not try to interpret things you've read or experiences with friends to suggest that if you sit in in silence, suddenly people are going to start buying things from you. Maybe there are emotional things going on with you that actually are affecting the vibe you are giving off when making calls, or the way you are approaching it. It is up to you to look closely at what is actually happening for you. Other people's theories, whether they are atheist or not, or concepts like the "spiritual realm" is all just a distraction.

I see where you are coming from Flow but i can't help to think its not related to cause and effect.

Today for example i went for a two hour walk in my city.Random people saying hello, woman smiling

and overall feeling centered and then i hear the dings text alert lighting up on my phone from people

i know suggesting meeting up tonight and playing ping pong.I don't know if this coincidence

but it almost always happens like this and almost never happens when i am really discontent and

watching porn or surfing through images of women on the net.

In fact alot of time the more time spent in solitude the more phone is flooded with texts most of the time

However, despite whats mentioned above no returned emails or phone calls from schools that i visited.

When i go into these schools i don't have a script.I just let whatever comes out of my mouth come out being present

I try to not come across as too salesy and just let the words become an extension from feeling present.

I would like to imagine that people appreciate it when you are less scripted

Sometimes i go to these schools after straight after going to the park and doing walking meditation yet it

doesn't seem to make much of a difference of whether or not i hear back from them.It seems that while they

appreciate me being present with them there isn't something compelling enough for them to call me back

and take me up on my offer to do after school golf enrichment classes with their youth.Perhaps it is

more of a reflection of the nature of business of an introvert who is more reflective than salesy. Also

going into school after school almost feel like cold approaching from my older pua days.

There is a certain amount of cause and effect, as there is to everything - I am about as far as you can get in terms of inner reflecting outer and being a proponent of that, but what I said was reduction and oversimplification.

What is required of sales MAY require you to tap into the exact opposite side of that energy to be more skillfully assertive and closing the deal and being proactive without pushy. Or fuck it and your ideas of "pushy and salesy" are uncalibrated and holding you back. Noone can answer that as a blanket statement.

Trying to correlate people texting you to hang out when you meditate to $ in the bank via clients -- how can anyone answer that that's "how it works." It's entirely personal. The questions can be answered by your own experimentation and exploration. You could meet wildly successful people who will tell you opposite things and both are 'right.' When results are not happening it is always appropriate to explore your emotional stuff around them as well as what you are doing practically, ie talking to people who know how to sell. Anymore than I would tell someone "your emotional state and space are what make you have big muscles" vs talking to a personal trainer, is silly, let inner work be inner work while working on the skill of sales and the correlations and insights will reveal themselves to you naturally. Because it is such a personal thing, anyone telling you what they do that works has too many variables involved that are subtle. You have to grok on a personal level what is needed from you.
