I'm writing about a work situation I'm having. Me and this guy don't get along and I'm not sure why... I'm not sure how to deal with these kinds of people. He seems cool and popular. He seems pretty well liked, but how I get treated I don't understand. I observed an interaction that game me insight into him. A girl came over to another girl to ask about me. She liked me the other girl did to however I had turned her off. I had gotten anger at her for not doing much work in my eyes and being jealous that she was talking to another guy and not me. That other guy really didn't do anything at all and that did make me mad... Nor did he care about how he was doing what little he did do. He comes over and the conversation goes something like... "Your talking about a guy who?" "Oh, him ?" "Girl that doesn't like me: He's creepy.. blah... blah" "Him:Yeah he was starring at me but I was like ehh bye your creepy I'm not talking" Later. "Your still talking about him?" "Move on or something like that..." He seems creepy to me. Well a little crazy maybe. Like I wouldn't be surprised if he started swinging at me. He always looks so dominating into my eyes and holds. I don't want to hold nor do I feel I should need to. He's playing games I can feel it. I don't want to be nice to him or kiss up to him anymore. I want to look him in the eye and walk away. He has no purpose in my life. I think he must feel threatened. Even if he thinks I'm a complete loser he tries to be dominate which means hes not, and perceives me as a threat. Today I needed him to move out of my way. Most people pick a side, but he backs up straight. I go to hook around him, but with him backing up straight he goes right in my path. I jump back and forth acting like he's playing a game. I realize he simply back up straight and I expected like every other person I've ever met to pick a side and move out of the way. Right or left. When he's blocking my way partially I assume he's choosing that side so I pick the other, but hes in my way now. His actions seemed unnatural to my mind. He just looks at me with those eyes. Its uncomfortable and why should I put up with him even if he is my coworker. What I expected to happen seems to be human nature. I observe every one else they all do the same thing I would do and have observed move to one side or the other. I think my fear of him cause me to want to go around him and not in front of him like he wanted me to. How do I deal with this situation and with people like him, that try to be on top or for whatever reason have a bone to pick? I'm afraid of him and I do get kind of awkward around him. Edit: I forgot to mention before I overheard the conversation I thought we were friends. He was friendly at first and put on a good front, like were cool... But after his eyes had that tone... They did slightly before but now its intense. |

Yeah, he now sees you as a threat. Those girls are diggin' you, therefore he feels the need to test your dominance. Basic primitive behavior. Personally I'd ignore it and just go about your work. Eye contact means aggression, and if you're trying to avoid drama pay him no mind, and let em' hate harder.. And get used to it, the more you improve your game, the more of those type of guys there will be. That's inevitable. |

Give it space, observe the dynamics between all the people involved. If you give him nothing he won't have any reason to bug you. Your not knuckling under or being beta your rising above..to omega
