Would you say this quote is harsh for reality?My thoughts. I do feel none of us are SPECIAL. We all die physically in the end. Yet, we are different beings (personalities). |

I think Tyler Durden is on your mind alot lately huh  Star Above was ranting how Tyler was a delusional asshole  In a way he is right, I mean take the quote in context of the film first and tell me what you think! You may just answer your own question. |

I always saw it as a motivational quote. People have been in similar or worse circumstances and have managed to rise above it all and be "special". That only my interpretation though. |

In the context of the film he is an asshole. Star Above was ranting how Tyler was a delusional asshole In a way he is right, I mean take the quote in context of the film first and tell me what you think! You may just answer your own question. He has been on my mind lately.

An accurate view of there not being a woman special from one another...other than that it's just some asshole screenwriter try'n to get paid. |

Your body is special, thoughts/experiences are the same for everyone. In my opinion, you got it all INVERSED. Your body never dies (your "human form" dies), the particles are reshuffled, the body is either burned to ashes which promotes growth to something else, is eaten by bugs, worms ... There is one thing in common to almost everyone one earth, "wanting to become somebody else", imitating others in one way or another. "There is nothing more common that wanting to be different". <- Only when you 'stop' this 'mechanism' of wanting to be different (which really makes you like everyone else), you'll be unique, different. |

"There is nothing more common that wanting to be different". <- Only when you 'stop' this 'mechanism' of wanting to be different (which really makes you like everyone else), you'll be unique, different. That is a very good point you bring up! I can recall a few times I wanted to be different be it a car, clothes, or action.
