Interesting persona he his.

Wiki : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wim_Hof
Quote:
Wim Hof (born 20 April 1959), also known as The Iceman, is a Dutch motivational speaker and extreme athlete noted for his ability to withstand freezing temperatures.[1] He has set Guinness World Records for swimming under ice and prolonged full-body contact with ice, and previously held the record for a barefoot half marathon on ice and snow. He attributes these feats to his Wim Hof Method (WHM), a combination of frequent cold exposure, breathing techniques, yoga and meditation. Hof has been the subject of several medical assessments and a book written by investigative journalist Scott Carney.[2]

Feels like a modern day shaman / yogi.

Will post more on this topic, watching some videos of him and testimonies from his seminars (ex: a french skinny girl that could withstand snow / ice bath) made me finally wanna put an end to my cold aversion.
Have started to be barefoot since this morning at home and on my terrace at 2°C, I already feel more tolerant.
Cold baths are coming.

Anyone knew of him? Any comments if you tried it?

Interesting character, it brings up reading in the past about how variances in temperature can be beneficial for health, long term.
So much to explore in this area and so little research done.

Indeed Grinus.

Nice rabbit hole. Guy is 63 if I recall, and as energetic as a 20yo.

There are only a few medical articles / experiments done to him / with him and people he "trained" for a couple of days.
Recent one : https://respire-aligne.com/wim-hof-meth ... confusion/

Also, claims / shows that breathing / cold exercises can activate the endo-cannabinoid system :

For those readers in the UK or with access to iplayer, he is doing a series on BBC1 in the uk at the moment.

Applying his method to a band of celebrities. Seems to be a series of 6, should be shortly available on iplayer for those interested.
