this is one of my favorites from all time, but the reasons i live it have changed with time

i think tyler durden was triying to achieve some kind of spiritual enligthment, it was not just about cosumerism wich is the part that most people like, the figths are something like destroying your own self, the past and the hope for a better future, and that's the point when tyler fails, when he tries to change the world in order to work for him.

"you are not your job, you are not your content on your wallet, you have to realize that someday you wil die until you know that , you are usseless, stop being perfect just evolve"

it's not about quitting your job and stop pursuing things

this is a whole sipritual concept, he was fighting the identification with things outside of ourselves, and for most of people here including me and the reason we are here, "we are not the number of women we fuck".

I agree. This is a fantastic movie and has some real messages that in my opinion are very deep and true, wether the author really believed in them or not. Some other I quotes like from it :

"Only after disaster can we be resurrected."
"It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything."
"Hey, you created me. I didn't create some loser alter-ego to make myself feel better. Take some responsibility!"
"And then, something happened. I let go. Lost in oblivion. Dark and silent and complete. I found freedom. Losing all hope was freedom."

Nice quotes Bonder, very eastern in their thinking.

Its got some good quotes

May I never be complete. May I never be content. May I never be perfect. Deliver me, Tyler, from being perfect and complete.

We don't have a great war in our generation, or a great depression, but we do, we have a great war of the spirit. We have a great revolution against the culture. The great depression is our lives. We have a spiritual depression

If you are reading this then this warning is for you. Every word you
read of this useless fine print is another second off your life. Don't
you have other things to do? Is your life so empty that you honestly
can't think of a better way to spend these moments? Or are you so
impressed with authority that you give respect and credence to all who
claim it? Do you read everything you're supposed to read? Do you think
everything you're supposed to think? Buy what you're told you should
want?

yeah fight club is definately one of the best movies that touch on spirituality from a mans point of veiw.

"fuck what you know, you need to forget about what you know that's your problem, forget everything you think you know about life"

"hitting bottom isn't a weekend retreat, it's not a god damn seminar. stop trying to control everything and just let go, let go!!"

there's too many great tyler durden quotes
