FIT TO FAT AND BACK - DOCUMENTARY - 2009 - PAUL PJ JAMES

In 2009, former international model and personal trainer - PAUL PJ JAMES - set out on a life-changing journey of discovery. In order to understand obesity on a personal level and empathize with his overweight clients, PJ decided to gain 50% of his body weight (40kg / 90lbs). By walking a mile in the shoes of his overweight clients, PJ wanted to experience the emotional, psychological and physical effects of obesity, first hand. His 12 month journey from FIT TO FAT AND BACK shocked the world and brought huge awareness to the obesity epidemic. PJ also inspired countless other trainers to follow in his footsteps and gain weight in order to try and understand the struggles of their overweight clients. FIT TO FAT AND BACK is an important and very insightful documentary. Sit back and enjoy the journey!

I liked the shift in the movie at around 1:02:00. It felt like the deeper lessons were coming out. That Michelle had a good head on her shoulders!

The ending was a bit funny to me though. It felt like they washed over the deeper lesson by having that part as the ending.

The doc did make me think about trying this out at some point in my life. It would be a hell of an experience!

Thanks for the share peregrinus.

Wow

Not for me though, +50% to 95 kg, holy hind legs of bejesus!
Not even if it was muscle.

The elevated resting heart rate alone.

I must be one, two steps away from orthorexia, says a friend.

It's back + biceps day

Hooray!

Having watched it a couple of times, I feel he rushed the down.. Would have liked to have seen him spend a month or so at the heaviest, let his body adjust, then start the return journey.
It was akin to a rebound. Many lessons were left on the table.

Interesting documentary. Thanks for the recommendation.

Was interested in how he gained weight as I need to put in some pounds, but I wouldn't like going that way

Damn Michelle looks like a fat bitch at the end. That arrogance.
Dora's progress though. Impressive.

When you're obese, every day is a cardio day
