Here's an article I stumbled upon today which I think some of you here might like. http://highexistence.com/carl-jung-on-w ... e-to-help/. Interested to hear your thoughts about the "question" posed in the last paragraph of the article.
No doubt this also sounds very simple. In reality, however, the acceptance of the shadow-side of human nature verges on the impossible. Consider for a moment what it means to grant the right of existence to what is unreasonable, senseless, and evil!

Hmmm, thanks man. Do you have any synopses of the shadow so I can make a road map and explore the landscape? Edit: what's impossible also changes over time |

That is how those qualities are perceived and how intensely they are judged by whatever we are identified with. Interested to hear your thoughts about the "question" posed in the last paragraph of the article.

Consider for a moment what it means to grant the right of existence to what is unreasonable, senseless, and evil! They are actually all reasonable and sensible from their own point of view and the willingness to explore that is a major key. As long as you are "trying to accept these bad things" you are identified with one point of view and it's judgements. It's not a light undertaking and appropriate to give a caveat like that. It can easily sound like a simple technique or concept for self improvement and it is much deeper than that. |

That is what he means by the term tho. I feel it's a pretty apt metaphor and catchy term personally - I just don't really use it because it has developed an association with some specific practices and concepts that often have overhead for people. |
