Per Paradise: "21st Century Fox new 2nd edition is on amazon now with $5 off the normal price until Sunday night. Its contents are about 10% different with work done to improve clarity, provide more examples and to use consistent terms throughout. It has not been re-written and remains true to the original." | Post subject: | Short Review From Reading the First Edition |
Review: I was planning on making this review for a while, but I haven't got around it to it. I thought it might pop up again and then I would just have to add my comments. A synopsis of the changes would help. The structure of the analysis changes in very slight ways, but the way the material is communicated changes a lot. I've only made it halfway through the 2nd edition, but I can make a few comments: Pros: The book is easier to digest. The content is more directed. There is less meandering in the sections. Some very STAUNCH examples of how to act are actually removed. Thus, the book as a starter kit from the 2nd edition is a better stepping stone. It is still mandatory reading. Some important sections are actually expanded on. Sections where there was superfluous content are significantly trimmed. The binding is much better. After my 4th reading of the 1st edition, it started falling apart. Cons: Some sections that communicated very minute and detailed things are gone. There is no extra elaboration on some sections that I would like. However, I suppose Paradise will cover this in his next book. Also, it could be that nothing else needs to be said on the section because enough has been said. The price is still too high on the book. I would like to see some sections amended and changed. However, I did not communicate that to the company. There is not enough space in the margins to take notes on your epiphanies. Yes, you will have epiphanies after reading the 2nd edition. There is also not enough space at the end of the book to make notes if you like taking notes in the books you read. Overall: The quality of the book in terms of binding and content is better in ways that may not seem significant to someone who has not read the original edition. However, the subtleties are important. What is more important is what is taken out than what is left in or added to. Filler and detrimental things in the book are reduced. |

Amazon is not showing an updated version 21CFSAP on it's site. How do I go about purchasing it? |

When you click to view purchase prices, under 'New' and 'Condition' it states that it is indeed the 2nd edition. |
