Can of worms time.

I understand the analogies used from The Matrix on this forum but I've never been a big fan of the film. Too much posturing and posing just to look good on film and the fighting is as clunky as Hong Kong Fuey. Yuan Woo Ping is a master fight choreographer but the actors he had to turn into convincing martial artists fall flat and wooden. K. Reeves ain't no Jet Li/Donnie Yen.

That is the important part, it gives a reference point that people can understand, relate to and frame things with.
Hence the analogies work.

Agreed

That I can tell, no one is praising the film for it's filmmaking sensibilities...like everything else, it's the reading between the lines that really makes this movie a must see in my eyes. As long as you understand the analogies (and how the events from the movie help to illustrate said analogies), then that's all that matters...if I want to watch an awesome kung fu movie, I'll watch Ip Man. 8-)
