I read this on another forum and I find it quite fitting, I feel I am writing this post especially to me:

intellectual understanding = know of but never experienced
true understanding = know of AND experienced

While reading through many of my posts, I have even seen the words "intellectual understanding" and I even use them in life. So obviously, if I have an "intellectual understanding" I really don't know. And it's mostly because of the lovely 3 letter word that Mr. Flow has peppered through out his posts.

And this:

Lately the trend has been, doing well trust my gut/reads, and then the EGO rears his head and it all goes to SHIT....

Like, "Oh look at me." "Look how cool I am" etc.

StephenP has mentioned it before to watch out for the EGO, unfortunately, I only had an "intellectual understanding" of it.... :!:

Funny. I read that on another forum too... ;-)

And yeah, I think it applies to everything. You can read about riding a bike all you want, but until you grab the handlebars...

Some things its easier to switch from conceptual understanding to experiencing. Talking to women? Quit reading about it and just go talk to some of them.

Other things its much harder, but until you really feel it and do it for yourself, its not real...

Ya, you can get trapped in the process of trying to understand it all, before wanting to go actually experience it; Ego protection.

some things I do poorly because I have never given them much
