Some say that women go for assholes because they're confident...well, if they're so confident why do they feel the need to put women down and treat them like shit...to show them they're dominant or whatever? Aren't confident people those who have nothing to prove? I hope you get my point...

People that put others down were always considered by many frustrated....so why are assholes/jerks seen as confident(if they are)?

Are assholes attractive? And if so, why? I'm not asking if being an asshole is some magic solution, I'm asking ...are some guy having success DESPITE being assholes or BECAUSE they are assholes (among having other attributes)

women don't like assholes because they treat them bad. They like them because they give them other things that they Need.

A guy can be an asshole but at the same time give a woman such an emotional thrill that she never got from nice guys. So she stays with the asshole because she loves the other things he gives her and she hopes that he will change the asshole part in him.
