Depends on how much work you want to put into it. As peregrinus said in a thread somewhere it's hard to follow all the sub communication. They have way more experience at it then the average man. It also sounds a lot like hard work.

Attention is the coin of the realm, all you have to do is not be super eager to hand out your attention.

For example if it's a situation where you are going to see them a bunch of times. Like you know each other. You give attention, but then when they start to pull back you just let them.

You're saying you can have attention but I'm not going to chase you to give it to you.

My most common response is just a sly "no" or I don't say anything.

You want to subcommunicate I know this game [don't actually say it out loud or it ruins it] and I think it's funny that you think this would work on me.

It's almost entirely just knowing where you stand. I'm not paying attention until they do something to get on my radar. They stand to close, they're in a particular spot directly in my view on purpose, they make eye contact for a second too long.

Once I see that I already know I hold the cards so I can just wait. Every action or misdirection from that point cannot break from focus from the information I already gathered.

It's like when you're playing poker if I am in the hand I have the goods to call. They can push all the chips into the center they want. They cannot bluff me, I already made them.

There's a comedian named Owen Benjamin who does live streams you can watch on Youtube. You'll pick up a lot of witty responses from those streams.

As someone who has been here since the forum was created - I can say, the skills you learn here are transferable across many fields. I grew up without a strong father figure in my life.

I had to figure it all out from scratch. The Kidd!!, peregrinus and many others would tell me things and I would go out and test them. It's not enough to know the facts, you have to able to observe what is occurring beneath the surface. If you can acquire this skill it will serve you well in all areas of life.

For example, I've never bought a mask. I walk right in the front door and when they ask me to wear one I simply say "I have a condition".

The condition is that I do not wish to wear one.

How much of a fitness indicator do you think that is? You should be happy the world is the way it is. The fact that the weight appears to be heavy means that almost no one will ever even attempt to lift it.

It's never been easier to rise to the top. The majority of men are sedated with porn and video games. You pretty much just have to show up to win at life.

It is however very different, in nuances and the details.

He does thing A in a way that is congruent with the rest of him, a way that he has experimented with and 'fits' him.
I do A in a way that is congruent with me, a way I have experimented and 'fits' me.

We have taken the essence of A and made it ours, each with our own version of it, influenced by us, our circumstances, our experiences, our learning, our aims, our goals.

If I was to try and copy his, it might have limited success, I would wager it wouldnt work, he isnt me.

Essentially we are doing the same thing, however we are not..

Little things that may work for him, may not for me and vice versa.

Take what is applicable and learn how to apply it for YOU. Which involves experimentation and trial and error etc.
They are guidelines, or directions to go off exploring in, rather than step by step explanations.

We are throwing ideas, experiences, thoughts into a big pot and then the other users can look in that pot, see which ones seem to fit, or trigger thoughts and then explore them more. Hopefully finding something that resonates and works for them along the way.

In practice, it's taken me MONTHS just to get back to humbling myself enough to be willing to experiment.

Some phases so far: anger, disinterest, superiority. Thinking that I 'know everything'. I think some of the core of the forum, naturally bring you back to a humility - honest observation means coming up against reality as it is. What do I really notice? In myself and around me.
