I don't really text much and when it's with girls it's usually for logistics. It seems like some of you guys have conversations with chicks and are successful with it. I just don't do it cause it never seemed to work for me. I feel like I'm to cold in my convos.


(I got this number from an approach I made on a school classmate)

Day 1:

F:This is Flux
G: Got it!
F:Hey, what days do you have the most free time?
G:Hey! and probably Thursday's are my best days.
F:Alright, sounds good

Day 2:

F:Hey (Name) What's up?
G:Hey! I'm at the doctors office! What about you?
F:I just got out of class, have some downtime. You at the office near school?
G:Yeah!
F:Cool. Wanna meet at the cafe around (Time)?
G:I have to go back to my apartment when I get done here and I don't know what time that will be! I'm sorry!
F:That's fine. I'm working but I don't think I'll be too busy today. Let me know if you're free.
G:Where do you work?
F:(Place)
G:You're lying! that's my favorite (Place) in the whole wide world
F:Lol, you should come by I'll give you a special discount
G:I will have to do that sometime! That's awesome
F:Haha don't quote me on the discount though
G:Haha I'm not!


Anyway this is fine right? I'm leaving it there since I'm not really expecting anything, plus I see her in class anyway.

Also bear in mind the context:
You are the one initiating the conversation.

You are the one keeping it going and steering it towards logistics.

You are asking her out. She's quite aware of this.

To me it makes no sense to be the one initiating / pursuing her (you are) and then try to act like that's not the dynamic. The words don't matter, only the dynamic does. "Oh I'm just super chill and totally whatever about this, I'm not really asking you out or anything, I'm just randomly texting you first trying to find out all the times you are free and suggesting we meet up during those times. Now here's a comment trying to entice you to come hang out with me by saying I'll give you a discount."

Things that are fun / work well with a girl who is into you and proactively engaging, rarely, maybe never? apply when that is not the vibe.

I honestly think it's 100x better to just ask her out in those cases, than be part of story after story of guy who is trying to appear like he's not doing exactly what he's doing. It's not about some rule like it is impossible to have something happen with a girl if you do or don't do xyz. It's more about just cutting the unnecessary nonsense in both what you are saying to her and to yourself.

It would be great if you learn to not let the system to be your guide, probably not the rigth word but is the one that i have in mind.

Yes my friend, your gut - listening and feeling will make it clear to you what is happening, and what needs to happen next. Take note of why 'Grinus highlighted the part he did. It shows that the conversation inside of yourself is 1000x more interesting than the one in the text convo, and that's the one that has the answers.

How we respond, or don't respond to things tells a whole story. Not the words, but where you are steering the ship, where you take things and then abandon them, what clear openings you miss or don't take, how clear and simple vs. meandering and obtuse. That's all about what's going on with you, and it will get communicated no matter how much you are trying to come across. That convo is richer than texting about school and work.

Should say 'to me' though as I can't speak for 'Grinus' reason(s). There's plenty there.

It's great to be back :D

When I approached her, I made sure I did it when she was heading with her coworker's to the elevator to return to her station. She trying to stop and talk but she also had to go so I said, 'Hey why don't you take my number? It'll help facilitate this easier.' 8-)

Her phone was in her hand before I even finished my pitch :twisted:
