Peace, wassup everybody!

I'm AntiSimp, in username and in mind. Judging by the posts I skimmed through in the "new members info", many of you are as well. Though you spell simp differently than I and many other cats in the game spell it, the definition is spot on.

I like conversing with like minded people, and in case there's knowledge here that I don't already know, I have no issue not knowing everything, because acting like a know it all is how you become a lame and a fool. And usually know it alls have a track record of failure.

I contributed a post in the lounge, and anyone that read my intro can check it out http://naturalfreedom.info/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4354&p=42958#p42958 in the link. Peace!

FYI, we spell symp traditionally...as the word is derived from 'sympathy'. I have no clue how it ended up being popularized with the spelling with the 'i'. :?

Anyhoo, welcome and hope this place helps you along on your journey. 8-)

Actually, the word came from pimps, the opposite of a pimp is a simp; the terms are even spelled very similarly. Simp and simping are street terms used in the game to identify the squares, players, and pimps. Captain save a hoe (another form of simping), was a term used by pimps to diss squares (& suckers) attempting to rescue a female from the life of hoeing. Simp is short for hoe-sympathizer. The reason it's so popular and spelled with an 'i' rather than a 'y' is because the term has been out longer and it has been spelled that way longer, as well. I've never seen simp spelled with a ‘y’ until I came here. Your definition is different as well. I know it as a man that puts himself in a subservient/submissive position under women in hopes of winning them over.

Very interesting. I guess we can just chalk it up to a potato/potatoe kinda thing...definitely on the same page meaning wise tho.

That said I'm very familiar with the term as well....and my definition jives with yours as you say it comes from 'hoe-sympathizer', which means the root of it comes from 'sympathizer', which comes from the base word of 'sympathy'...see? ;)
